Pandemic

A pandemic is an outbreak of a disease that occurs over a wide geographic area, often affecting multiple countries or continents, and typically involves a new infectious agent to which most people have little or no immunity. This widespread incidence can lead to significant illness and death, straining health care systems and prompting public health responses. Unlike an epidemic, which is confined to a specific region or population, a pandemic’s scale and its ability to spread rapidly underscore its global implications. Pandemics can arise from various pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, and other microorganisms, and often necessitate coordinated international efforts for prevention and control.
