Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams typically consisting of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by moving a ball into the opposing team’s goal using primarily the feet, although players can use any part of their body except their arms and hands. The game is played on a rectangular field known as a pitch, with a goal at each end. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins.

Football is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, which are maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). The sport is known for its global popularity, with millions of spectators and players worldwide, and it is often referred to as soccer in countries where a different sport is called football, such as in the United States and Canada.

Variations of football include association football (soccer), American football, and rugby football, each with its own specific rules and playing styles; however, the term “football” predominantly refers to association football in most countries.
