Premier League

The Premier League is the top tier of professional football (soccer) in England. Established in 1992, it is contested by 20 clubs and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the English Football League (EFL). The league runs from August to May each season, with each team playing 38 matches, facing each opponent twice, once at home and once away. The Premier League is known for its high level of competition, financial clout, and global fanbase. Teams accumulate points through match results, with three points awarded for a win, one for a draw, and none for a loss. At the end of the season, the team with the most points is crowned the champion. The bottom three teams are relegated to the EFL Championship, while the top teams from the Championship are promoted to the Premier League. The Premier League is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious football leagues in the world, featuring numerous international stars and significant investment from television rights and sponsorships.
