NASA, or the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, is the United States government agency responsible for the nation’s civilian space program and for aeronautics and aerospace research. Established in 1958, NASA conducts space exploration, scientific discovery, and the development of new technologies with the aim of expanding human knowledge and capabilities in space. The agency manages various programs such as human spaceflight, planetary exploration, Earth science, and astrophysics. Its iconic missions have included the Apollo moon-landing missions, the Space Shuttle program, and the Mars rover explorations.
